Krista Regedanz is a licensed psychologist and founder and director of Palo Alto Smart Therapy in Palo Alto, California. She works with achievement-oriented adult clients who often have concerns around burnout, meaning, authenticity, deepening connection with their partners and/or kids, imposter’s syndrome, anxiety, and shifting the effects of developmental trauma that often helped them accomplish important life goals but which are not allowing ease and satisfaction in life, work and intimate connection. Dr. Regedanz believes parents provide the foundation for their children’s sense of who they are in the world and their sense of belonging, agency, and safety. She often works with her achievement-orienting clients to rewire their brains with EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems psychotherapy to re-parent themselves often with the goal of being more present, compassionate, useful parents to their own children. She believes when we all fail as parents, it is not our fault… but it is our responsibility to own our mistakes (so our kids don’t have to), work toward correcting mistakes if we can and to find help when we get stuck.
